On Saturday, February 28, 2009, West Virginia’s Snowshoe Mountain Resort will host a “Ski for the Cure event” to help raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.

Ski for the Cure lift tickets will be sold for $100 on February 28, with $55 of the ticket price going directly to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Participants will also be eligible for discounted $45 lift tickets for Friday, February 27 and Sunday, March 1. Participants will be asked to sport a bright pink boa throughout the weekend, which will be provided by Snowshoe. The boas can be picked up during a Friday night welcome party at the Junction Restaurant, or Saturday morning at a pre-ski gathering.

Ticket purchasers will also be invited to a Friday Night Welcome Party with complimentary appetizers, a Happy Hour on Saturday at the Moonshine Pub, and a Pink Party under the Big Top on Saturday night, featuring a DJ, special pink drinks, and fun and games for the whole family.

Ski for the Cure participants will be able to rent equipment for $18 per day and receive lodging discounts. For more information on the event or to make reservations, contact Snowshoe at 877-441-4FUN and mention the Ski for the Cure event.
