he recent stretch of warm weather has shut down many local ski areas, but colder temperatures are slowly returning.
Ski Liberty, Ski Roundtop, and Whitetail all had to close their doors last week due to unseasonably warm temperatures and rain. These resorts planned on resuming snowmaking Sunday night, and hope to make snow several nights this week, although temperatures during the day will be too high to allow round-the-clock snowmaking. Because of this, we do not expect these resorts to re-open for at least a week. Roundtop hopes to re-open Monday morning, but check with the resort before heading out.
Seven Springs has survived the warm stretch, and is currently offering a base depth of 12-18 inches with spring-like conditions and limitations. 18 trails are open.
Wisp has started making snow again, and currently has a base depth from 0-36 inches. 13 trails are open, with loose and frozen granular surface conditions.
Snowshoe Mountain Resort has resumed snowmaking and currently has a 20-60 inch base depth. 44 out of 54 trails are open, with groomed frozen granular conditions.
