Wounded Warrior Weekend Comes to Liberty 1

On March 1-2, 2008, the Blue Ridge Adaptive Snow Sports (BRASS) will host a Wounded Warrior Disabled Sports Project Snow Sports Weekend at Pennsylvania’s Liberty Mountain Resort. During the event, BRASS will host ten severely wounded service members from the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, teaching these Wounded Warriors how to ski and snowboard. These service members are currently stationed at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Similar events across the country have introduced wounded soldiers, airmen, and marines to snowsports, providing the opportunity to learn and experience a new physical activity as they recover from physical and emotional trauma.

A non-profit organization, BRASS is a chapter of Disabled Sports USA. BRASS will cover all expenses for the soldiers to participate, and many volunteers will be on hand to help make the event a success. If you would like to donate to BRASS, visit www.brasski.org.

Thank you for posting this notice Scott. This event is in our back yards (almost) and deserves all our support. Volunteers are often needed. Yours, Connie
