Walnut Hill
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Ed Towill, who grew up outside of Philadelphia, writes that there used to be a rope tow hill located adjacent to Lorimer Park in the Northeast section of Philadelphia, off of the Red Lion Road area. Called Walnut Hill, Ed says that the area was operated by the Philadelphia Ski Club.

Use to ski this hill in the 60’s early 70’s with the phl ski club. Went back in the early 90’s and the warming hut was gone and parts of the row tow were still there. Might only be 100 vertical or so ill check with dad on more history.
