Editor’s Note: Canaan Realty’s Laura Reed provided the following commentary and photos to DCSki. Laura ventured outside on Thursday, October 27, 2005 following an early-season snow storm that hit the Canaan Valley region earlier this week.

It is a beautiful day here; 27 degrees this morning. The snow is crusty and still hanging around. The kids went back to school here in Tucker County, but many other counties still are without power due to the snow bringing down trees on the power lines.

I was up at Blackwater Falls State Park this morning enjoying a walk in the October snow! I tried to get a good picture of the ski areas with the snow on the slopes.
