Close-to-home, plenty of slopeside amenities, numerous mountain and lodge improvements, tons of skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing opportunities. Join us at Liberty Mountain Resort this winter season for the perfect mountain getaway! Plan an overnight stay, one-day "snowcation" or weekend getaway with the whole family. Stay in our slopeside Liberty Hotel and enjoy meals at our various eateries, including McKee's Tavern and the newly improved bakery. Enjoy skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing on our over 100 acres of skiable terrain. Our mountain includes 16 trails, 5 quad chairlifts, 3 terrain parks, and a large snow tubing hill. Our Ski and Snowboard Schools offer a wide variety of lessons and programs for all ability levels, and specialize in first timers to the sport. Unsure about skiing or snowboarding? Give snow tubing at try at the Boulder Ridge Lodge! Featuring 15 tubing lanes, a special kiddie tubing area for those ages 2-4, party rooms, an outdoor deck, and food and beverage in the beautiful lodge, Boulder Ridge Snow Tubing creates a fun winter atmosphere for everyone. During your visit, be sure to check out our latest resort upgrades - new quad chairlift on the backside of the mountain, Alpine Room redesign, new lift station area at the First Class Area quad, and the exciting addition to the terrain parks. Best of all, we've added more computerized and automated snowmaking so we will be able to make more of the fluffy white stuff faster, and more efficiently. We will be whiter and "greener" at the same time!

Glad to hear that Woody -- the Legends are still one of my all time favorite skis.

The real problem across the whole region tomorrow will be wind

???

The OP was asking about PA (several spots), WV and VA. And you're saying wind will be a problem for "the whole region" while using your "special sauce model for WTG" ???

Extrapolation much?

My apologies, I thought we were primarily talking about WTG and Mass at the time based on the OP's statements -- both resorts had a lot of wind today and it will continue into tomorrow. I can run the weather model for any other lat/lon of interest if it helps. The forecast models use a grid with 1km resolution in the mountains so there's no need to generalize or extrapolate.

Speaking of all time favorite skis, I saw a dude rocking vintage neon-yellow Kastle RX-S skis today. I had bought a pair in 1989 and wore them out by 1993, yet this dude's skis still looked brand new. I'd be afraid of the old Geze bindings though.

Skier219, your comments about wind led me to check Friday forecasts more closely. Ended up choosing Blue Knob for my son and his friends (who'd never heard of BK). Despite preferring fast lifts, they loved the conditions and runs at Blue Knob today. Thanks!

I would have to concur. weird fog this am, but still pure powder skiing as of last night on a 600' vert run from the top of forest road 80 through the trees down to the doggie friendly timberline trail at wg...say what?! Surprised how little tracked up white grass was yesterday in the usually tracked glades....we actually broke trail up forest rd 80 three days after the dump? that was surprising, but maybe that is because you can literally ski a-n-y-w-h-e-r-e on the mountain with this much base and pow. And the 50K of groomed trails twisting and winding up, down and all around are so soft and buff it will blow your mind.

Temps supposed to warm up. This could be it for powder skiin in the mid-atlantic this year...you have today left to get on it!
.....time to make the granola bars smile

The snow was in great shape when I had to around 11:30. Still very dry. Nice and soft in the trees. Hadn't gotten to heavy yet.
