And from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
http://www.postgazette.com/pg/10311/1101001-37.stmMr Walsh predicts a 2012-13 opening at the earliest and this is by far the most telling comment from a 7S marketing director.
Seven Springs, which signed a 10-year lease to operate Laurel Mountain, said it is working closely as an adviser with the two departments as the project proceeds. But there doesn't appear to be any hurry on anyone's part to re-open the area sooner than the 2012-2013 season.
"Our responsibility is to operate Laurel Mountain when it opens," said marketing director Alex Moser.
Again, all parties seem to be waiting for this project to wither on the vine and die. Or maybe the budgetary grim reaper, Tom Corbett, will give all parties the excuse they're looking for. Thanks Bob Nutting, you jacka$$, for effectively killing 2 regional assets (Laurel and the Pirates); one wonders how far 7S will slide downhill (and it is sliding, just ask anybody who skis or works there) under his "leadership".
