I like these informal bets. If the season is going well (BIG finger crossing), I might be up at T-line around their 20th Anniversary party Jan 6-8. Have to talk to some others about a potential trip that weekend.

ps- no Miller Lite for the ante up. And yes, Kris, it was a tough game. Not sure it was tougher than NC State but since we were playing better this week and you held it close, then you're probably right.

I'm rooting for the Hokies to go undefeated, then on the 19th...... Anyway, it's always more fun to beat a good team. Wahoowa

Roger...I think if we hadn't fumbled that punt return...It would have been a whole different ballgame...Im not sayin we would have won...but it would have been a lot closer..

Oh well...the past is the past...got the whole season to look forward to...
Quick ski question while im here...how much better is it to have your own skis then to rent them everytime...Ive been puttin off gettin my own skis for a while...Everybody has told me it makes a huge difference, but i cant see how...
Can someone explain...

just started skiing last year...made it out about 12 times or so...Love it...rented ski equipment everytime...I did real well...Skied everything at CV, TL, and Winterplace...Blacks, blues, greens, double blacks, terrain parks...even hit a few rails at TL...
I think im ready for my own skis...But ive only got like 400 maye 450 to spend right now...And i know i cant get skis, boots, bindings, and poles for that...I might just rent this year and save up and get some good stuff next year...

Jimmy he's not going to do snowmaking for us at MSM. I can't believe this. UVA is forgiveable- I mean, heck, you and I are kind of buddies and we go to WVU and VT respectively. If peace can be made between attendees of those two schools, then anything is possible. But not wanting to work for MSM? I mean, it's not like we pay salaries but who needs it when you've got everything Moonshine is going to have... most young men would consider it a privilege to work at a place that holds weekly wet t-shirt drinking contests... what is wrong with Snowmakers? Snowmakers: what's wrong with you? What more can we offer you to make snow for us instead of Snowshoe? What if I told you that Snowshoe was run by Hokies, and all the people that owned property there were Hokies? What if I said that your snowmaking system as it exists right now would be PERFECT for Moonshine Mountain?

This is a high pressure sale. Screw the school- I went to Notre Dame as an undergrad and we're all entitled to make those types of mistakes. This is important- this is about LIFE, and bringing meaning and happiness to people, about finding your calling. Your calling is with us, Moonshine Mountain. Can't you hear it calling? Whiskey, women, ATVs, beer, and skiing, sometimes all five at once. What else is there in life?

No offense, Heather- you're gonna have to work on the "ladies" program for MSM. Being a man, you must understand that anything I came up with would probably be well wide of what women want. What do rowdy redneck women want anyway? Heather knows, and she will provide for them!

But we need a snowmaker- we need someone with dedication and courage and ingenuity and other stuff. I thought I had found it in you Snowmakers. Don't let us down!!!

Kris, check out some used demo equipment. You can generally pick it up for less than half price and it'll take care of you for several years. I do, however, recommend spending money and some time shopping for boots. They are the most important piece of the equipment puzzle. Find somebody reputable to help you with that purchase. There are too many people out there that don't know squat about how to fit boots and are only trying to make the sale.

snowmakers, SNOWSHOE????? Why would u want to make snow for that yuppie ghetto of a mountain......come on over to MSM, yup we sail every day at 8:00. And what's wrong with WVU? Heck, when i started there, a longlong time ago, we invented furniture burning on university ave right IN THE MIDDLE of the street. was exposed to a hokie for the first time that night......it was a Friday, first beautiful day of spring.....my guys and gals started trickling into the college inn after class, those were the days. anyways, we had many beers sitting inside by the window, when we noticed the place was packed and we were hungry......you know snowmakers, WVU's engineering school is also highly regarded..........so we left to get something to eat and go back to the CI for more fun, the sidewalk is packed u can't get near the CI so we packed a cooler and took a seat on the wall across the street...... " Moonshine Mountain. Can't you hear it calling? Whiskey, women, ATVs, beer, and skiing, sometimes all five at once. What else is there in life? " and pretty soon the STREET is packed, big bonfire of doors, furniture, cops are directing traffic around the crowd, what fun!when all of a sudden we hear tires squealing and see this Olds 442 convertible top up, full of kids sliding down UnivAve. the driver scrubbed off enough speed that he kind of slid it into the crowd, which parted and then closed back around it "most young men would consider it a privilege to work at a place that holds weekly wet t-shirt drinking contests..." . The driver, now stuck in the middle of the street/crowd put down the top and say's "i told you we needed to get out of Blacksburg, this is where the party's at!!!!!!Pretty smart for a hokie, huh?

Moonshine Mountain-Ski it if you can (stand).

You wanna see a bonfire Jimmy? You come on down here. We'll get us a few dozen (hundred) folks together and head up to Brush Mountain for a little grain alcohol party. Last year the band almost burned the forest down they got the fire goin' so hot. No cop would dare go near that place.

Personally, when I'm ready for an ugly night, I head to Whiskers Roadhouse in Floyd. Certainly Whiskers could be talked into expanding to MSM.
