Who actually owned them before?  The resort seemed to have pretty good infrastructure all around the past couple seasons, hardly a mom and pop operation.  I do know they do typically have trouble getting 100% open as quickly as the other Mid Atlantic operations do.  But, that has more to do with their geography and climate than it does with the number of guns and water supply.

West Virginia billionaire Jim Justice purchased Wintergreen Resort around 2012 and indicated an interest in selling Wintergreen earlier this year.  Justice also owns West Virginia's Greenbrier Resort.

Before Justice, my understanding is that the Wintergreen Homeowners owned the ski area.

Looks like the company that will manage Wintergreen also manages Wisp, and Ragged in NH.

I heard a group from NC were interested in buying a MidAtlantic resort; guess it was not Wintergreen.

Wintergreen Partners, Inc. (WPI) owned the common facilities (e.g., buildings, ski area, golf courses) before the 2012 sale to Justice.  WPI members were generally property owners or homeowners at the resort, but not all homeowners bought into WPI.  For some background, here's an article about the 2012 sale:  http://www.dailyprogress.com/news/business/wintergreen-officially-set-to-change-hands-what-changes-will-follow/article_26d49ca0-863c-5fd8-918b-ac10ee96c836.html
