How did the resort swap on this work this current season...is it one visit per resort or one visit total and then half off additional visits? Snowshoe is not really on the list of places I want to drive midwinter...but I can day trip each of the other resorts on the swap, so one visit to snowshoe in March to pick up the pass might be worth it if the swaps aren't restricive.

Living near Pittsburgh, the swap is awesome.  Here's a summary from my experience:

Swap good at - 7 Springs, Hidden Valley, Wisp, Blue Knob

Restrictions - Blacked out on ALL Holidays and Saturdays. One free ticket at EACH of the above.  Subsequent visits 50% off window rate.

BONUS - 250 Snow Bucks Credit good at any Intrawest resort with your SS pass. (I plan on using mine at Stratton, VT on Mar 5 - 8)

No brainer if you ask me.  For 200 bucks I will ski 4 times (Sundays) at the 4 swap resorts, got 2 day lift ticket at Stratton and about 10 days of skiing at SS.

16 days worth of tickets for 200 beans.

I BELIEVE that you have to pick up the pass IN PERSON. That can be a bummer. Someone else can validate this.

Call SS to confirm this but I emailed a photo for my wife last year.  I believe they can mail it for a fee.

I had a pass this season. They mailed mine to me for no additional cost. I was able to submit a photo online for the pass too.

I ordered the pass the first time they offered it in February of 2013.  They did not mail me the pass.  I was going skiing at snowshoe a few weeks later, and they were out of cards, so they could not give me a pass.  They printed a lift ticket for me all three days.   However in the off season they did send a pass to me in the mail.  A customer service rep told me I could take the email to 7 springs to prove I was eligible for the resort swap.  I never went until they mailed me the physical pass in the mail, so I can not confirm if their were any issues with it.

I believe once you have the pass if you pay for it again you can just activate the old one and do not need to get a new pass.

They probably have that all worked out now.

Guess I have to think about this one... I would almost certainly break even on this based on the resort swap alone, I just need to decide if it is by enough that is is worth venturing down to snowshoe for a march weekend to do. I'm also almost certaintly going to renew my Liberty/Whitetail/Roundtop pass and it would be nice if they would release thier planned cost (guessing around $470) for budgeting purposes. Not sure I want to drop close to $700  for next winter already.

Its kinda crazy what they are throwing in... 7 springs Sunday (non holiday) lift tix are $77 alone, combine that with one weekend at snowshoe and that is already even. (and it would be a great excuse to finally try Blue Knob)

Our non homeowner friends buy it for the same reason.  They hit the 4 resort swap places and join us one weekend in Snowshoe.  Minimum of 6 ski days for $200

I recevied an email.  It is on sale ($209-229) for a short period then goes up to $329

This year is different.  The price is based on volume and time.  The first 2500 get it for $209, the next 5000 get it for $219, and then everyone else pays $229 for the duration of the sale, before it jumps up to $329.

I guess 9 gazillion people will be jamming their servers at 8 AM tomorrow.

From the SS facebook post

http://www.snowshoemtn.com/lp/ridiculous.aspx

The Ridiculous Pass is on sale TOMORROW February 17th at 8am! This Unlimited Season Pass for 2015/16 starts at just $209.

But wait, it gets even better ”“ your Ridiculous Pass is also good March 1st through the rest of this season! Pretty ridiculous, right?

However, only a limited number are available at this price, so don’t delay. Once each tier sells out the cost will go up by $10 and max out at $229 for the remainder of the 10-day sale.

This is a great deal!  If I didn't work at 7springs I would jump on it.

Questions:

1) Does 250 Snow Bucks Credit = $250 for anything at an intrawest resort? Lift Tickets / lodging etc

2) It's good starting march 1st....So I could use one of the resort swap tickets in march 2015 too?

1 - Appears to be lift and/ or lodging.  I'm working with Stratton right now.  Their lodging is high so I'm going vrbo for lodging and using the 250 for a 3 day ticket

2 - a few years ago it worked that way for me.  You will have to physically have your pass.  Honestly, the swap resorts would have no idea youjust got it so my guess is you could use it to swap as soon as you have it in hand..

What a complete FUSTER CLUCK.  Been try for 30 minutes to buy 2 passes.  Website crashes ..... phone lines are busy.

Saving myself the aggravation and I'll just wait a couple days and pay the 229 VS 209.  Just like I said yesterday, 9 gazillion people will jam up their servers.

Painful, but done.    Website never did do anything but timeout.  I was extremely lucking to get put in the waiting queue for reservations, resulting in:

Shawn     Ridiculous Pass (15/16)    1    2/17/2015    209.00    209.00

I basically gave up online.  I did get to the product selection many times but it ultimately failed.

I'm just going to call periodically and piss and moan about the process and see if I can get them to give me the 209 rate.

I'll play my -  "Is this how you treat a long time homeowner, longtime season pass holder card on them".

Their Facebook page is blowing up with people beechin'

The rediculous pass isn't restricted at Snowshoe in any way right? Allows for holiday skiing, weekend skiing, and night skiing, correct? It's just a normal season pass at good prices... correct?

Intrawest's Chief Information Officer is Jeffrey Grayson. Here is an article about how he "walks a mile in the customer's shoes". Apparently a great deal of his work focuses on technology.

Perhaps we should let Mr. Grayson know how well the technology is working today.  Hold off on the cute apps until you can get the phones and internet server working.

Website is still Fubar'd.  When I was successful, I was able to call the depot and get transferred to the hold queue for reservation.  It was like winning a radio call in contest, because the phone lines are not really any better (at least when I was trying).

Good luck to all.

As of 11AM, I think they must have rebooted their commerce server or something.  It seems to be working.  Get in quick before it bogs down again.

Yup. Just got through. took a break around 11 and as someone said seemed they rebooted their servers... got in in about 15 minutes (had to create an account, etc. and it was still mega slow)

Would love to know about the $250 bucks to other Intrawest resorts. AND what Snowshoe's closing date is. Or what we anticipate it to be.

I heard the SS is planning to stay open until Easter this season.  They usually close Silver Creek around mid-March.  I am not sure about $250 Intrawest credit.  They will probably sort out what benefits they are going to assign to the season's pass a bit later, but you have the historical precedent on your side.

I would not give up on some sort of promotion good at other Intrawest resorts for next season.  If I remember correctly BIG Corporate Intrawest offered the $250 credit last year, and some sort of reward for buying a season pass at any of the Intrawest owned resorts the year before last.  The rewards were offered a bit later in the ski season to counter-act the impact of other several multi resort passes being offered such as Vail Resorts EPIC Pass.

On their Facebook page, they said today that "the Snowbuck program is not available AT THIS TIME."  I coulda sworn I saw this listed as a benefit on their site earlier (like earlier today).  Did anyone succeed in using this last year?  I see it wasn't announced until last April so maybe they are working on deals for next year, but I noticed people complained on their Facebook page that it was difficult to use.

I saw some info about the snow bucks also.  I used them last year for Winter Park Lodging

It took 3 hours from 8 AM on the computer and non stop calling (busy).  Finally was put on hold at 10:30 AM.  What a pain and waste of time...glad I was off work today.  Bought two at $209

Sent this to Snowshoe:

I just don't think this was a good idea to tier it like that...website couldn't handle, phone system couldn't handle it and there was not enough staff to answer the phones even if the phone system could have handled it. Should have sold them like they did the last two years.
Thanks for your time

Definitely a "we want money now" situation. They brought in half a million dollars today since they sold out of the $209 deals. I think that was their thinking, despite how annoying it was.

They sold out of the $219 passes too, so it's actually at least a $1.6 million day for them.

I don't see them being so hard up for cash that they would risk alienating customers with under-prepared servers; this season the slopes have been very crowded every weekend since Christmas. I think they just wanted to create urgency in the fence-sitters and also increase revenue by increasing prices some. Compared to selling an unlimited # of $200 passes like in the past two years, if they sell 20,000 season passes this time, they will have about $375,000 in additional revenue.
