Timberline is supposedly going to open this year and they are saying it will supposedly be on Dec 12th. So much for hoping for a Timberline opening/Jack Frost weekend.
The 12th does give them a weekend or 2 for snowmobile racing!

We should be thankful that they are opening, period. I hope thery get someone in there who can manage the business end of things so they are not always scraping by in the beginning like this and past years. A little marketing would help.
I just went to check their facebook page. I was pretty sad to not see 5 different posts all referencing a different opening day.

Don't worry I hear Canaan Valley will be open. Wonder if they will let Timberline's season pass holders ski for free? Timberline wouldn't want to let season pass holders get in the way of the first two weeks of snowmobile racing.
If this is true maybe they'll open early ......

Oddly enough I have a hike planned at Old Rag in Shenadoah National Park on 10/24. Didn't realize that I would have to bring my snowshoes!
