Anybody know quickest/best route from Timberline to Snowshoe...thru Elkins or thru Senica Rocks or?

I have to leave gathering sometime Sunday to catch up with son's family at SS for a few days.

Through Elkins is probably an easier route, the entrance to Snowshoe from the West side is less steep.

Thanks for help, but I am Thinking more in terms of time from  TL to SS.  From home (NoVa) I usually go through Seneca Rocks & Greenbank and up from that side.  But from TL I am unsure of time difference via Elkins versus going via Seneca-Greenbank.

Anybody know?

Seneca Rocks way would probably be faster.

Google map says 1 hr 50 min via Elkins,  1 hr 53 min via Senaca Rocks....

I've made that CV - SS trip a few times and always went via Elkins.  One thing you can count on, it's one hour from that Walmart in Elkins to the Mountain Lodge parking lot .... no matter how fast you drive.

The few times I have driven that route I have gone to Elkins.  I find that the road from Elkins to Snowshoe is fairly straight in some spots and the fact that I have driven 32/33 so many times growing up that it is very familiar road for me.
