From the HV Website

On Friday, Continental, Bobcat and Rambler slopes along with the Learn-to-Ski Area will be open, serviced by a triple chairlift, the Bobcat and the Learn to Ski conveyors.

Conditions permitting, we plan to open Imperial, Cobra and Model T slopes Saturday and Sunday as well as the Blizzard quad chairlift. Slopes and lifts subject to change.

HV was mentioned in an article the Weather.com picked up from a Pittsburgh paper. Focus is on the things for non-sliders to do at a few MidA ski resorts.

HV is the OBVIOUS choice here if people are deciding which two resorts they should pick to goto. However, as I already have a 7s seasons pass, I will most likely be at 7s tomorrow.

Tough call for me. I want to go but .....

I'm afraid I'll get bored skiing up and down Continental for only $25 at HV. They only have 4 trails open last I checked.

I think $45 for a day pass is a little steep with only 8 trails open at 7S.

Gas + Turnpike tolls are weighing on my decision about making the trip tomorrow as well.

Sounds like 7S in a no brainer for you.

I say go now, or wait till Jan.
10 days of 20+ normal temps
10 days of 10-15 + normal temps
Lots of sun.

Wouldnt surprise me if they had to close.

I think the BEST conditions for some time will be tomorrow.

Is it just me or is everyone getting a warning about "dangerous downloads" on the Blueknob website?

Check out HV's new website. Looks great.

We should never get excited about cold weather and snow in October and November. It comes back to bite us in the @#$ everytime.

I'm thinking of heading up Saturday and skiing Sunday. May have a chance to ski a couple of hours Saturday depending on when I get there.

I get the same but I accessed the site a few days ago without problems.

I feel real bad about the recent death of a toddler at the zoo. How's the staff doing?

Sincraft, when I saw this response I thought, "what a pessimist". Then I took a look at the forecast, which I hadn't had time to check (busy week).

While it looks like the Canaan Valley will see some snowmaking temps over the next couple of weeks, other areas may not fare so well.

Instead of waiting a week, I made a last-minute decision to hit 7 Springs yesterday (Friday). Glad I got in some nice first turns of the season! Good snow and a decent amount of terrain for a November opening day.

So ... Thanks !

was in the lift-line of two people lol @ 8:53 and basically skied Imperial and Cobra for three hours and sadly my legs are tired and i am getting sloppy so i quit but it was exxxxcelent the snow was quite good but by noon getting a little slow so I was pumping my turns and doing the race-thing to keep up speed so time to quit. Fairly low crowds, no rocks/bare spots all very good actually.

gonna go get some booze - oh and food too i guess.

nice to be back doing it .
