Has anyone tried the Head Peak 82 for this year? I'm looking at my new yearly set coming up and after skiing on Head Monsters this past year, I'm sold on them. I saw great preliminary reviews on them but I'd like to compare them before purchasing, perhaps the new AtomicVF-82s.

I still miss the old Volkl AC-50s and the Superstars, but after experiencing the arrogance and contemptuous customer attitude of Volkl marketing people at Snowshoe this past season, I diverted my family's $20K in annual ski sales to anything except Volkls.

I cannot see how there could be another ski that would outperform my new Atomics as far as an all mountain ski..I am chompin at the bit for next year!

Thanks. Reviews are awesome for both. I'll see what the Dilly in Chantilly has to offer perhaps this year - that is, if it happens....

Don't know if it takes an edict or something but their website has Atomic skis for sale.

Ah. Used to be Ski Center was the only spot in DC for Atomic at all; I suspect that they still have the most complete range.

I did notice that it seems Ski Chalet doesn't carry Head. Wonder why

I have a pair of the older Monster IM-72 and I love these skis. The tails are quite stiff so they can be squirelly in moguls. I also have demo'd the IM-78, the newer, wider version of the IM-72 and found them to be fantastic skis. I was amazed at the turns I could execute with those skis. If you you are looking for more of a powder or off piste ski, the IM-82 was a great performer. I am not familiar with the new renamed versions, but I think the Monster series are somewhat legendary for their range of all mountain performance.
